Dear Save The Rave Community,
We write to you bearing bad news.
There is currently a movement by a group of Richmond Citizens to shut down concerts and festivals in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Park neighbors are complaining that large events such as Outside Lands, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and Bay to Breakers are causing undue hardship on the neighborhood. It also includes beloved events like Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and Bay to Breakers.
THIS MONDAY, February 13th @ 1pm there will be a hearing by the City Board of Supervisors on this issue. We need you to come down to City Hall to show your support for our right to lawfully gather and to preserve these vital cultural events. These concerts are what make San Francisco a special and wonderful place to live, bringing together many communities of people for the purpose of fun and inspiration.
The Supervisors are in an election year and are likely to support the group with the most numbers. We must get all of our music family and anyone who cares about our First Amendment rights to come out to prove that our community will not be silenced.
Please spread the word and let’s make a splash this Monday!
When: This Monday, February 13th, 1pm
Where: City Hall, 1 Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA – Board of Supervisors Chambers
– There will be a Save the Rave representative in the lobby to meet you and direct you to the hearing.
